We are in the process of updating our computer systems and website. Please bear with us as we perform our upgrades. The anticipated completion date is March 15th 2010 at which time the latest alerts and recall notices will be available on this page.
The latest safety alerts and product recalls will be categorized for easy browsing. You will be able to focus on product areas that are directly relevant to you - for example, Baby Formula Recalls, Child Safety Seat Recalls, Children's Toy Recalls, Poultry Recalls, Meat Recalls, Food Recalls, Medicine Recalls, Cosmetic Recalls, Motor Vehicle Recalls, Tire Recalls, and many more categories. Additionally, we will begin to make available archived alerts and recalls that go back over 10years.
Manufacturers announce safety recalls on a weekly or even daily basis. Most of these product recall announcements are ignored by media outlets which is precisely why we need your help in informing others about new and potentially life threatening saftey recalls and safety alerts.
We first ask that you help others to find this website by sharing our website with other people you know. We've made this very easy by including the following quick links to popular social networking sites. When you click a link, it will open that site in a new window where you can login as yourself. Once logged in our link will be instantly shared and you will have helped others to find valuable - potentially even life saving - information about recalls.
Next, please subscribe to our newsletters. We also have subscriptions you can setup for your loved ones so that they only get notified of product safety alerts and recalls that might be applicable to them. For example, our Child Product Recalls and Alerts service is designed for parents of babies and small children.
Then, if you have your own website or blog, please add a link to us. You can copy the following code and paste it into your own webpage.
And finally, if you have the means to do so, please donate to support this valuable service.
The Consumer Safety Institute is dedicated to ensuring the safety of consumers in the United States against unsafe and defective products across all market segments and product lines whether the products originate from either foreign foreign or domestic sources. We strive to gather, process, analyze, and compile all available information related to safety recalls and hazardous notices about consumer products from government and private sources in order to best inform the public.
Unfortunately, subscription services are not available at this time due to the ongoing changes on the website. To be notified when our subscription service is available, please enter your email address below.
Did you know we do not receive any funding from any government sources. No federal or state government supports us as we attempt to inform and educate the general public about new consumer product safety recalls. We receive all our funding directly from three sources:
Of the three sources of funding, donations from private individuals give us the greatest flexibility followed by purchases of our premium subscription services. In fact, corporate sponsorship plays the smallest role in our organization which helps us to stay focused on consumers and avoid conflicts of interests. While we are not currently classified as a "Not For Profit", rest assured your support is invaluable in helping us meet our mission.
